From Oct. 14 to Oct. 16, 2016, the 6th National Seminar on Marine Ecology & 2016 Academic Conference of the Marine Ecology Commission of the Ecological Society of China, undertaken by SHOU College of Fisheries and Life Science, was successfully held in Shanghai Ocean University. Yu Xingguang, Director of the Marine Ecology Commission of the Ecological Society of China and Director of the Third Institute of Oceanography, State Oceanic Administration, gave his opening speech; Cheng Yudong, SHOU President, presented his welcome speech. Also present at the seminar were Ding Dewen, Academician; and Li Junxiang, Deputy Secretary General of the Ecological Society of China. As proposed by the Marine Ecology Commission of the Ecological Society of China, the seminar reached the “Shanghai Consensus” about making new contributions to the construction of marine ecological civilization.
